H.G. Swim Academy combines over 20 years of competitive swimming and coaching experience across Bulgaria and the UK, offering a programme shaped by founder Hristo Grahovski’s international background and passion for teaching excellence. Hristo’s approach draws on the most effective global coaching techniques, combined with a progressive, open-minded philosophy, to ensure every swimmer receives thoughtful, personalised guidance throughout their learning journey.
We’re happy to introduce our new swim teacher at Thames City, Irina.
Irina is a dedicated swimming coach with over 13 years of experience, including seven years with the Donetsk National Artistic Swimming Team. At H.G. Swim Academy, she delivers engaging, confidence-building lessons that help children develop strong technique while having fun in every session. Fluent in English, Russian, and Ukrainian, Irina is known for her patient and encouraging approach, bringing out the best in every swimmer. She holds an ASA Level 2 qualification from Swim England and upholds the highest standards of safety and instruction.
We’re proud to welcome Irina to our team and look forward to seeing Thames City residents benefit from her passion and expertise.
Hristo Grahovski is an ASA Level 2 certified swimming instructor with over 20 years of experience in teaching and coaching swimmers.
He has worked with several major swimming clubs across London and West Sussex, bringing a wealth of knowledge gained from diverse training environments. Originally from Bulgaria, Hristo draws on his background in the country’s competitive swimming education system, combined with his own well-developed private tutoring program in London.
As a former competitive swimmer for the Bulgarian national team, his achievements include:
- Multiple gold and silver medals at the Balkan Games, as well as national and international competitions
- Finalist at the 2004 European Junior Championships
- Multiple national records in breaststroke and individual medley relays
